Praia do Norte or Algodio as it is also called, is an unassuming beach by Ericeira standards. Located just to the north of Praia dos Pescadores, this is a beach that most people miss. In the summertime there are umbrellas and sunchairs to rent on the beach and the ocean is calm, perfect for a dip. And during the peak season the beach gets busier with a lively and charming beach-vibe.
Praia do Norte in the Off Season
In the wintertime you can have the beach to yourself, and its worth taking a detour down to the beach. If the waves are big, they will crash over the wave breaker in a spectacular way.
When the conditions are right this beach can also be good for intermediate surfers.
The water is shallow close to low tide and there are some reefs on the outside that makes the ocean shift in different blue nuances.
