Where and How to rent Surfboards in Ericeira
Ericeira is a surf mecca. Within a tiny part of the Portuguese coast only 40 min from Lisbon you have a great amount of surf breaks surrounding the town of Ericeira. Regardless of if your feet never touched the top of a surfboard or if you are a highly advanced surfer, there is bound to be a wave for you.
Since there are so many places to surf around Ericeira, there are of course also lots of surfboard rentals in Ericeira.
Where to Find Ericeira Surfboard Rentals
Just walking around the old town of Ericeira, you are bound to walk past plenty of places offering board rentals. So if you are interested in comparing prices off line, this is your best way of doing it.
On top of all the surfboard rentals around the city center, there are also surfboard rentals close to all the beginner friendly surf breaks of Ericeira. The exception being the beach of São Julião. However, the two main breaks of Ribeira D’ilhas and Foz do Lizandro have both surf schools and board rentals.
If you are interested in booking your board online even before you reach Ericeira, there are also places where you can do this. But if you plan on doing this, we recommend you to make sure it’s a local business so you support the community.
Affordable Surfboard Rental from Us
When we are not busy working on this site or surfing, we are running a cosy surf lodge with an amazing view – Villa dos Irmãos. And since we want our guests to have a great time while they are visiting us, we are also offering very affordable board rentals.
Although this service mainly is for our guests, we are of course also happy to rent out boards to other people.
Our Prices
For a beginner soft-top board with wetsuit, we charge 15 Eur for a full day (yes these prices are still valid in 2023 🙂 ). For a shortboard for intermediate surfers with wetsuit, we charge 20 Eur for a full day. Our wetsuits are high-quality 4/3 front zip wetsuits, since that’s what we use ourselves all year round here in Ericeira.
For pickup and drop-off to your accommodation or the beach, we charge 10 Eur extra (both ways included). However, if you have your own car we have soft board racks to borrow free of charge. So then it’s just for you to come and pick up the board.
If you are interested in renting for a longer time period or several boards, we’re happy to offer a discount.
