Originally Immerso Hotel Ericeira was scheduled to open in early 2020. Then Covid came and naturally things got delayed. Now it’s 2022 and the luxurious, yet down-to-nature hotel, has finally opened its doors to the public.
Ever since we first heard about the hotel when it was in the planning stages, Immerso promised to be one of a kind, inspired by Ericeira and its surroundings. Now that it has opened, we are happy to see that it has delivered on its promise.
When you walk around the hotel compound, you find plenty of nods to Ericeira, its nature and its rich history. The design and architecture are calming and allow for a deeper connection with the Portuguese countryside. Throw in the spectacular panoramic ocean view of the São Lourenço beach, and you have true relaxation.
As the sun sets in the Atlantic and creates a magical light setting, taking a dip in one of the two swimming pools or enjoying a glass of port on your room balcony will be an immersive nature experience.

The Immerso Hotel has the goal to be a slow hotel, a place to pause and take in nature. The design and interior decoration of the 37 rooms is simple and understated. The on-site hotel restaurant serves refined local food. A deliciousness that you will enjoy with a spectacular view over the ocean and the dramatic landscape of Ericeira. And according to reports, even a Michelin starred chef has been involved in the exquisite restaurant.
During the coming years, we are excited to see if maybe the Ericeira restaurant scene finally will be awarded with its first member of the fine dining community.
So far the restaurant has received mixed reviews, some people love it, others don’t think the food lives up to the hefty price tag.

It might come as no surprise that the Immerso hotel isn’t on the budget side of accommodation. Such a experience comes with a hefty price tag. But for the price you get a truly unique experience.
The Immerso Hotel Ericeira has a stunning ocean view and is immersed in the middle of the nature. However, this also means that the location itself is a couple of kilometers away from the ocean. You can’t just stroll down to the beach for a morning dip. The small town of Ericeira is a ten-minute drive away. This is not really a problem since it is easy to get around with rental car, taxi and Uber.
Immerso is located in the same area as the Portuguese big brother house. If that’s a flaw or a perk, its up to you to decide. When they are filming it looks like a well-lit spaceship have landed in the lush hills. But being inside the hotel compound, you will not notice any of this.
