Olive 3 Ericeira is the hippie-chic alternative among the Ericeira guesthouses. The main building originates from the 1950s, it belonged to an important Longshoreman and his wife, so there is an interesting history to the place. The guesthouse even saved some memories from the couple and incorporated them in the decor.
Olive 3 Ericeira lies on the edge of the old town. You’re only a 2-minute walk from the ocean and a 1-minute walk from the pedestrian zone of the old town. Everything you need for your Ericeira getaway is easily reached by foot. Despite this central location, the guesthouse breathes tranquility.
Garden and a small Pool
The garden with its pool and hammocks invites you to just hangout and it’s easy to spark up a talk with other travelers. There are also great facilities for a bonfire and barbecue. And at the on-site bar the staff will sell you a Sagres or make you a Caipirinha.
There are fruit trees on the grounds and thanks to the laid-back vibe you quickly feel at home. The staff is present and friendly, always up for a surf. The kitchen is well equipped for when you need to set up a post surf brunch.
Potential Flaws of Olive 3 Ericeira
The biggest complaint is that Olive 3 is not as well isolated as it could be, thus if the other guests are noisy, their sound travels easily.
The kitchen can also be a bit messy at times and should be better equipped for the amount of rooms in the guesthouse.
Olive 3 has raised their prices in the last years and become one of the upscale hostel alternatives in Ericeira. Despite this, the guests seem to be happy and appreciate what they get for their hard-earned euros.
Another thing worth noting is that Olive 3 Ericeira accepts animals, there are cats walking around, so if you have an allergy this might not be the place for you. On the other hand, if you travel with a furry friend, this guesthouse is a great choice. Finding a parking space nearby the hostel is a challenge, and the included breakfast is very continental.

Olive 3 is also good if you want to do yoga during your holiday. The on-site yoga studio is big, peaceful, and with an abundance of natural light. There are two daily classes in the high season. Besides the classes, you’re allowed to use everything in the yoga studio like yoga mats and yoga bricks whenever you want. So it’s easy to organize your own practice.
The guesthouse also suits surfers. They have board rentals for reasonable prices and its close to surf beaches. In the summertime the beach bus stops right outside, so you have no problem getting you and your board to the break of your choice. Olive 3 Ericeira is great if you don’t want to hire a car. Stay here if you want to enjoy being close to everything and have a big garden as well.
