Golfhino Azul is great if you want to explore the surroundings of Ericeira. The restaurant is a 15-minute drive from central Ericeira and located on a cliff top with an amazing view over São Lourenço beach. Thus it’s the restaurant to go to for watching the sunset.
The inside space is bright and airy with beach house style decor that makes you think about the French riviera. It also has a lobby that makes you think of an alp cottage. All in all its by far one of Ericeiras coziest designed restaurants. And the large window gives you a view over the sky and the ocean, you can see the waves crashing against the rocks.
The outside terrace is even better. The view overlooking Praia de São Lourenço is stunning. Golfhino Azul is perfect for long lazy lunches that makes you feel like Hemingway. It’s also good for romantic open-air evenings, dining under the star to the sound of crashing waves.
The Food at Golfinho Azul
In Golfhino Azul you can chose your own fish and the chef will grill it for you. It also offers several fish dishes, such as monkfish rice and meat dishes like black pork secretos and Mirandese steak. However unfortunately the food is just to plain to match the amazing interior design. And considering the basic dishes, Golfinho Azul is a bit pricey. You definitely pay for the view. Some guests have also reported the service being slow.
If Golfinho Azul just could match the interior design and the view with equally amazing food, it would hands down be the best restaurant in Ericeira.
Since our guesthouse is located pretty close to Golfinho, we are eagerly waiting for that to happen.
