Tik Tak
Ericeira Insiders Most Popular Restaurants Series
Tik Tak is one of the most popular restaurants in Ericeira, if not the most popular. The location is great, a corner in the center of Ericeira. The restaurant offers seating both inside and outside and the atmosphere is always inviting and buzzing.
The restaurant manage to hit the sweet spot for what you want from a restaurant outing, the design is cozy and colorful. The food is yummy and plentiful. Its also usually crowded and very lively, and the staff does their best to keep up, always taking orders and handing out food.
Tik Tak offers generous portions of typical Portuguese dishes. The products are of high quality and the chefs knows how to treat both the meat and the fish.
What to Order at Tik Tak
If you still haven’t tried Bacalhau, order Tik Taks version, Bacalhau Tik Tak. It’s oily and garlicy and very savory. If you want something equally good, but not quite as traditional, they have lamb-chops and duck, both dishes comes with sauce (something you don’t always get in Portugal).
If you fancy seafood the octopus rice (Arroz de Polvo) comes highly recommended. The combo dish with different grilled meats is another great option, perfect for sharing. All the different meats are grilled to perfection.
For vegetarians there are only two dishes to choose from. Basically just fried vegetables or fried mushrooms with fried potatoes, and neither of them taste particularly inspiring. So if you are a vegetarian check out our post on vegetarian restaurants in Ericeira instead.
As Portuguese food is based around meat and fish and not much more in terms of sophistication, it’s not always friendly to non-meat eater. This is unfortunately the case at Tik-Tak.
There is a large wine selection in the restaurant, all of the bottles reasonable priced. The knowledgeable waiters will give you a good recommendation. Or if you are not in the mood for wine, try the red sangria. You will see plenty of guests enjoying the colorful jugs.
For the dessert we recommend that you go for the chocolate mouse or the house desert “mil folhas.” Those are our favorites.
The only downside is that the dinner occasionally can feel a bit rushed, it is indeed a very popular restaurant and the waiters naturally want to seat more people. Sometimes there is a queue outside with people waiting for a table. It’s not optimal to enjoy your Gambas Fritas while hungry people are eyeing you and your food through the windows.
The price level at Tik Tak is steeper than at many of the other restaurants around Ericeira. So if you are looking for a cheaper meal this is not the place for you.
But if you are up for some Portuguese food and prepared to spend around 30 euros per person, Tik Tak is a great option. The cozy ambiance and the rustic well-prepared food will make you have a very nice evening.
