The restaurant has a big fan club, both among Portuguese and expats. Make sure to book a table as its always full. The outside seating is perfect for summer evenings. Inside the decoration is cheerful and inviting, with bright orange walls and a wooded floor that adds to the atmosphere.
Tik Tapas is a great place for meeting up with friends and sharing a lot of different dishes. The restaurant is also good for bigger groups since its one of the more spacious restaurants in Ericeira.
The waiters will make you feel welcome, they are great at navigating through the busy restaurant, always prepared to tell a joke or explain the food. Most of the waiters has been working at Tik Tapas for years and they know the menu inside out.
Portuguese Tapas at Tik Tapas
The Tapas menu is inspired by Portuguese gastronomy and divided into three sections, meat-tapas, sea-tapas and earth-tapas. The dishes are meant for sharing and served in small doses. Two or three dishes per person will make up a full meal. There is an a la carte section of the menu for the guests who prefer a full-size portion.
This restaurant is also suited for families, since the menu is varied. There is something for everyone. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan the staff can help you with what to choose. Sautéed mushrooms, breaded prawns, fried cuttlefish strips are some of the tapas options not to be missed. The baked potato with garlic herb topping is a good compliment. And if you fancy some meat, choose the beef fillet strips in champagne sauce and the lamb chops. The stuffed squid also deserves a special mention.
Tik Tapas has an excellent wine cellar with reasonable prices. Thus if you want to treat yourself to a nice bottle, Tik Tapas is the right place. They also do sangrias, and their champagne sangria is worth the splurge.
For dessert you can’t go wrong with chocolate fondant. But all their desserts are excellent.
The kitchen is open until very late so if you are hungry after a particularly late sunset surf session, just go to Tik Tapas.
