You and the Sea Ericeira is a brand new 4 -star Aparthotel. A cluster of apartments in various sizes is arranged around an on-site restaurant and an indoor swimming pool. The apartments are all spacious, tastefully decorated and well equipped. They have good natural lighting and are well heated.
The whole area is done in a modern contemporary style that gives you a luxurious holiday vibe. The ocean view is spectacular, the terrace is particularly good for gazing at the horizon.
Apartment Facilities With 4-Star Hotel Standard
You and the Sea Ericeira offers you the flexibility and privacy that comes with having your own apartment, with the same service you would expect from a 4-star hotel. You don’t have to think about anything else than simply enjoying your holiday. The attention to details is spot on, both from the staff and in the general layout.
You and the Sea Ericeira is a scenic 20 minutes’ walk from the old town of Ericeira. This is a great location if you want to be close to all the restaurants and bars. But not close enough to suffer from the noise during the night.
The staff comes highly recommended and a lot of guests especially appreciated the quality of the daily housekeeping service.
Spa Facilities and On-Site Restaurant Jangada
For a dose of holiday wellness there is a sauna and a hammam next to the swimming pool. We strongly recommend trying the spa treatments, the massage is very affordable. The gym is well-equipped, with all the machines you need to keep up your exercise regime despite being on holiday.
The on-site restaurant, Jangada has a high ambition level. The menu features a mix of classic Portuguese dishes, all done with a modern twist. Jangada also offers wood oven pizzas, as well as vegetarian and vegan option. There is also the option to order food from the restaurant and eat in your apartment. Every morning the restaurant serves a varied and nice breakfast buffet.
Potential Flaws of You and the Sea Ericeira
It’s worth noting that the pool is mainly indoor. Depending on the weather conditions, the pool-area can be opened to the outside or closed off with glass doors. The weather in Ericeira is not suitable for an outdoor swimming pool during the larger part of the year, so this was probably a good design choice.
The pool is next to the restaurant and thus is not giving you much privacy from the people eating in the restaurant. This also makes the pool close unnecessary early. No late evening dips unfortunately.
The kitchens in the apartments could be better equipped in terms of detergent and dishcloths and capsules for the dishwasher.
The ocean view differs greatly between the different apartments, so make sure to give You and the Sea a call and ask what exactly you get in terms of ocean view.
It’s not clear from the pictures but there is a road that goes between You and the sea and the beach, so this can be worth taking into consideration.
Who is You and the Sea Ericeira for?
You and the Sea is a great alternative if want to have the option of self-catering. Its also particularly good for families. The facilities are kid friendly, with a well-stocked playroom for the little ones. The staff is very friendly to kids.
There is also a secure car park under the building, perfect for parking your rental car.
It’s also suitable for bigger groups of people, since the apartments comes with up to 4 bedrooms. There is even the possibility to order a barbecue to your own private terrace. Perfect if you want to host a small party.
A Luxurious and Calm Oasis
You and the Sea Ericeira is a great place for a relaxing holiday. The pool area, the ocean view, the spectacular on-site restaurant, everything contributes to creating an oasis of calm luxury. This is a perfect location to unwind and pamper yourself. Its also a good base for exploring Ericeira and the surroundings while having a calm base to return to. Both Lisbon and Sintra are a short drive away.
When you sit on your private balcony and watch the sun set in the Atlantic Ocean, you really feel that it’s just You and the Sea.
