With this influx, Ericeira has also seen an increase in businesses catering to the demographic, and just the last 6 months several coworking and coliving locations have opened up in Ericeira.

Coworking in Ericeira
Sandhi House
Originally a yoga studio and luxurious guesthouse in the heart of Ericeira, Sandhi house opened up for coworking duing the fall of 2020. The cowork takes place in the beautiful and spacious living room of Sandhi House, and at 70 Euros a month its currently the cheapest of the coworks in Ericeira.
With both a fireplace and an ocean view, this is definitely the place to cowork if you’re into a tranquil working environment. And if you are interested in finishing off the work day with some yoga, Sandhi offers a special cowork and yoga deal. Only 120 Eur per month for yoga classes and cowork access. Thus if you’re both looking for a place to work and do yoga, Sandhi is the place for you.

Salt Studio Cowork
Located next to the main square in the old town of Ericeira you can’t cowork any more central than this. Since the early spring of 2020 Salt Studios is the first place solely focused on being a Cowork in Ericeira.
Although a little bit pricier than Sandhi (130 Eur + Iva for a monthly desk), you also get a bit more as far as comfort (proper office chairs) and interior decoration. And if you consider how small Salt Studio is, you realize that they have to charge these prices unless they want to be running a charity.
On top of this the intimate setup is bound to provide a great community and cowork atmosphere. Although they just started as we are writing this post, we’ve already heard lots of great things about Salt Studio.

Ericeira Business Factory
The Ericeira Business Factory is located super centrally, and although not very cozy it provides a great office space to work from.
However, its actually not a cowork, but a public incubator. This means that to work there you need to apply to the municipality of Mafra and provide a description of how your business will benefit the municipality. As most business probably can find a way to be beneficial to the municipality, this isn’t a huge hurdle. And once you are in, you only pay 50 Eur a month.
On top of an office space for this money, you also get something that the other centrally located coworks doesn’t provide. You get free 24h access to a parking space that always has parking available in downtown Ericeira. As it can be very hard to find parking in Ericeira during the high season, this is a great perk. Thus if you plan to stick around for a while, Ericeira business factory is a great option.

Other Alternatives
If you are in boot strap mode or just don’t feel like paying up the money for a cowork, there are of course an array of cafés where you can choose to work from. Besides cafés, you also have the public library in Ericeira.
To get some cowork feel without actually joining a cowork there are also the weekly Friday cowork meetup organized by the facebook group; digital nomads in Ericeira. And on an initative by digital nomands during the fall of 2020, the Tempo restaurant also opened up its doors for daily coworking.

Selina
Selina is a hostel chain that’s also targeting digital nomads. It started out in central America and hugely funded by venture capital it’s now expanding all over the world. In the summer of 2019 the Ericeira branch opened up. And when you step inside of Selina Ericeira you can tell that they definitely burned some of that sweet venture capital on decoration and design. It is a really beautiful place.
However, regardless of being beautiful, it’s quite easy to understand that Selina is not your place of choice if you really want to knock out work. The difficulty of being a hostel catering to a party crowd and Digital nomads needing to get work done, doesn’t go completely without friction.
This means that in the off-season Selina could be a good option for remote workers. But during high season Selina gets very busy. These months of the year its more of a hostel for a younger digital nomad on vacation from work, or just anyone who wants to party, surf and enjoy the awesome facilities.
Regardless of if you choose to stay at Selina, we definitely recommend you to bring your laptop and head over to their café for an afternoon every once in a while. Outsite Coliving Ericeira
In late 2019 the coliving cowork chain Outsite opened up their Ericeira branch. Since its extremely centrally located this is a great option for coliving in Ericeira if you don’t have any car. However, if you do have a car, you should be prepared for parking difficulties if you are visiting during high season.
With a clearly defined target group, a nice outside area and nicely decorated rooms, outsite is bound to provide a great community atmosphere.
Although having discounts for longer stays, Outsite quickly gets quite expensive if you plan to stay for months. So it may not be the place where you spend a huge amount of time if you’re on a budget. But if you’re a young professional on a wocation, Outsite is a great option.

Sunago Ericeira
Created by our friends David and Samara, Sunago is a beautifully designed coliving with a proper detached workspace. In fact, as soon as you step inside Sunago, it will not be difficult to understand that one of its cofounder worked as a designer in a previous long gone corporate life. Every detail in Sunago is beautifully and thoughtfully designed.
Ontop of the immaculate interior design, the garden of Sunago is amazing. And the “Surf Sheriff” David, will surely be able to provide you with the daily best surf report around.
Just like our own place, Sunago has a maximum capacity of ten beds, which is bound to provide a great community and an intimate vibe. Sunago is also a little bit outside of the city center, thus if you want a calmer work environment close to the nature, this is a great place.

Villa dos Irmãos
Our own place is a place with an ocean view. A really nice ocean view. So as you are sitting and getting those emails sent out, you will be able to see the surfers carve out the waves down at the break of São Lourenco.
We also have a beautiful garden and outside chillout areas with hamocks and tables for having your lunch. Or maybe a glass of wine as you close down the computer for the day, all the time with a view of the ocean on the horizon.
On top of having the amazing view, we’re also just a 500 m short walk from the beach. And as we are located next to the village of Ribamar 7 km from the Ericeira center, we are the place to stay at if you want to get away from stress and just focus on work and surfing. Although there always are some activity going on around Ericeira. And we usually end up going there everyone from the villa together.
