Vila Gale Ericeira is Ericeira’s Grand Old Hotel. Like a magnificent older lady the classic white and green building face the ocean. The hotel is located in a central part of Ericeira, overlooking Praia do Sul. Vila Gale Ericeira was inaugurated in the 1950s and was later sold to the Vila Gale Group who refurbished and restored it before reopening in 2002, so it’s a hotel with an honorable history.
Vila Gale Ericeira has everything you need for a 4-star hotel experience. The hotel consists of 202 rooms, some with balconies, some with ocean views. All are equipped with air conditioning, flat-screen cable TV, minibar and free Wi-Fi.
3 Swimming Pools on the Cliff Side Terrace
The biggest selling point is the massive cliff side terrace. Filled with 3 swimming pools, with plenty of room to spare. Here you can have a glass of wine in the bar, or relax in one of the sun chairs with an uninterrupted view over one of Portugal’s most beautiful coastlines.
Guests also have the possibility to relax in the wellness center, which offers a sauna, Turkish bath, hot tub and spa treatments such as massages.
On the flipside some guests remarked that the interior design needs an upgrade.

Away from the Hustle and Bustle of City Life
Immerso Hotel Ericeira is located above São Lourenço beach, this means that the center of Ericeira is a 10-minute drive away. This can be both a downside or an upside depending on what you are looking for.
The beach of Sâo Lourenço is only a 15-minute walk away, but we know from experience that the walk back is steep. Its great for trekking, but we wouldn’t call it a stroll.
Beautiful Breakfast Buffe and an Ambitious Restaurant
The breakfast buffe has already received the thumbs up from reviewers. We have high expectations on the restaurant since the rumor has it that a Micheline star chef was involved in creating Immerso Ericeira.

You and the Sea is a newly opened aparthotel. All their apartments come with the same service and standard you would expect from a 4-star hotel. They are also centered around a spa facility with a heated indoor swimming pool. The splendid view overlooking the ocean and Praia do Sul will recharge your batteries in no time.
When you get hungry there is the on-site restaurant; Jangada. The restaurant’s ambition level is high, with fresh local ingredients and an ever-changing menu of updated Portuguese dishes as well as wood oven pizzas for the less adventures.

If you want charm and personality Villa Ana Margarida is the right choice. The hotel is located in the center of Ericeira’s old town. Surrounded by restaurants and cafes and a 2-minute stroll to the nearest beach.
What makes Villa Ana Margarida so special is the marine-themed decorations, there are plenty of nods to Portugal’s sea-faring history spread across the hotel. The design is whimsical and fun and done with a lot of creativity and attention to details. And it really will make you feel like you are in Portugal and nowhere else.
A Historical Boutique Hotel
The owners are a local family and the house of the hotel used to belong to an old shipping family, so this is a great place to connect with Ericeira’s history.
The most common complaint is that the rooms are on the smaller side and that the it can be a bit noisy since it is located in the heart of Ericeira.

WOT Hotel – The Affordable Ericeira Hotel Option
WOT Hotel is a 2-star hotel where you get classic hotel comfort such as AC, flat screen tv, modern furniture and comfy beds for a modest price.
The location is as central as it gets, next to the municipal market and a short stroll to the nearest beach. There are many restaurants and cafes to choose from right outside the door. Despite this, the hotel is quiet since its located on a side street and with well isolated windows.
The rooms are modern and practical, with a desk, central heating and a mini fridge. Each room features a recently renovated private bathroom
Classic Hotel Standard at a Central Location
Guests particularly liked that the Hotel was comfortable and clean and offered good value for money. The windows are big and some of them with views towards the ocean.
On the downside, the breakfast selection is not huge and finding parking close by can be a struggle, especially in the summer months.

WOT Ericeira Lodge – For the Grown Up Surfer
Not exactly a hotel but rather a well-designed surf lodge with Instagram friendly decor. The building, originally from the 1950, is newly renovated and everything is clean and fresh while at the same time keeping the charm of Portugal intact.
WOT Ericeira Lodge is great for the grown-up surfer or anyone who wants to enjoy the surf culture of Ericeira. The lodge even features an eclectic quiver of handcrafted surfboards available for sale.
The location is central, close to several beaches and with all the good restaurants and bars within walking distance. There is a great chillout spot on the roof with views of the sea.
The breakfast included is at the cafe across the road and its healthy and delicious.
A Stylish Getaway
On the negative side, most of the rooms have shared bathroom. The rooms on the ground floor can be a bit noisy. And some people felt that the Lodge didn’t live up to the beautiful pictures published on Instagram. The breakfast hours are far from generous and the breakfast is limited to a menu. Make sure you book a room with terrace or balcony to enjoy the full potential of the surf lodge.
